Bottle dropper poorly designed, liquid is fine
To get the drop to come out you have to turn the bottle straight upside down for a few seconds and start squeezing to get the air out of the tip, and even once the liquid starts making it to the tip it is still mixed with lots of air and you don't get a simple drop to go into your eye, rather it burbles and sputters and you get a sort of wet airy mix that finally drops off the tip into your eye, equivalent of a half drop. If you keep the bottle squeezed, the next drop that comes out is a regular drop, but by then it's kind of over kill as you now have a drop and a half. I find myself wondering every time is that first half drop enough (no) and then I go on to add the next full drop, and then my eyes are overflowing and running down my face.Secondly, all that would be just something I'd live with if the drops themselves had some sort of amazing long term improvement of my dry eyes, but they really are just about equal to the other drops that I had already been using - Refresh Optive Advanced. They do the job in the morning when I wake up with super dry eyes, but they don't have any long term affect of improving the symptoms the next morning (I read a study that some users had an improvement of symptoms after using for a few weeks, which lasted even when it wasn't just recently put in).I have tried a lot of the eye drops out there and many add a weird and unpleasant texture in the eyes, or create a build up of a sort of discharge after they have dissipated, and the two that do not have any of these weird textures and side effects are these Thealoz Trehalose drops, and also the Refresh Optive Advanced. However, since the Trehalose is merely effective in the moment with no longer term effect, and the bottle dropper is so poorly designed - I will just stick to the Refresh which I can pick up in any drug store.

Works Fantastically For Dry Eye
I've worn gas permeable contact lenses for almost 50 years. My eye doctor gave me Restasis which created a huge blur for up to a half hour. Then I tried Thealoz. Within one to two minutes, the blurriness and dry eye were gone, and I was able to see clearly again to read or drive. When I remove my lens at night, it pops off my eye easily. This stuff is great. By the way, I only use it once or twice a day.

not bad but not that effective?
They feel ok but didn't really notice much difference... and without preservative, not sure about keeping it around as long as they say. Could be i did not persevere long enough to notice a big difference.

Five Stars
Best non-irritating eye drops I've ever used, and I've tried them all. Works well with contact lenses, too.

Not useful for severe dry eye
This will work for mild dry eye, but it is really not that useful for anyone with severe dry eye such as for myself. It requires frequent repeated administration, whereas something else, for example GenTeal Lubricant Eye Gel for Severe Dry Eye Relief works for so much longer. I had high hopes for trehalose but this product let me down. Perhaps a gel-based and preservative-free trehalose product will work better. As for Thealoz, I discarded the bottle.

These drops are the best!
My eyes feel so much better since I've been using these drops. I am not aware of having dry eyes now. These drops really made a difference. Thealoz is the only drops I use now!

Good for mid-intensity lubrication
I was given this after corneal surgery (transplant) to help with dry eye symptoms. For me I found that this just didn't do the trick - the solution is quite watery in consistency (similar to saline solution). For this reason, I found the moisturising effect was very short lived. However, my case was obviously quite extreme as it was post-surgery rather than conventional dry eye and I'm sure this product would be sufficient for lesser conditions. It must be said that I did find this was good for giving my eye a good bathe; just not as effective at drop-for-drop lubrication. For me, I was prescribed a different brand that used a single concentrated gel drop (similar consistency to contact lens soaking solution) that sat on the eyeball longer and did a lot more to help long term lubrication. In conclusion, I'm sure this product would be good for the majority of cases, but if you find you have very, very dry eyes then it may be worth looking at the gel solutions that offer more intense lubrication.

The best by far!
This is an amazing product and I can't rate it high enough. If you suffer even remotely from dry eyes, then thus will help. I have used it with my gas permeable contact lenses for a few years now, both to insert my lenses and to add a drop or two to my eyes during the day to aid comfort and wearability. It is without doubt the best product I have ever tried. It works in Greece during the summer, and in the uk during dry central heating. Well worth the money.

Recommended by optician
My optician recommends these drops as the best on the market. They are expensive, but last a long time and can be used several times a day, unlike other cheaper brands which contain preservatives so can only be used twice a day at most.Much cheaper from Amazon than on the local high street.
