I bought one of the cheaper raspberry pi 3 power supplies also offered on Amazon at first that weighed almost nothing, by all appearances appeared to be a POS. After a couple months of light use it started hissing and I tossed it to avoid damaging the Pi or burning down my house. This one on the other hand is solid, more reminiscent of a charger that comes with a cell phone. It appears to be well made and has worked without issue thus far. Definitely worth the extra few bucks.
