Good Reading for Those with Unresolved Muscle and Tendon Issues
Most info on tendons covers athletic injuries (RICE), verses damage from inflammation and drug side effects. This was the only book I could find that covered damage to tendons that was not related to athletic injury. My tendon stiffness, to the point of discomfort, was related to drug side effects and I found the information in Michelle Cook's book to be excellent. I have tried some of the natural remedies and they have helped. The author has a deep understanding of how muscles and tendons work or don't work when they are exposed to inflammation. Some remedies I was familiar with; others not. However, this book really added to my knowledge of how muscles and tendons function and what they need to remain healthy.

This book is okay...could use more organization of thought
I typically like the books from this author...however she needs to organize the info a little better. There was not a fluid protocol here.

EXCELLENT !
I believe the body's resources for healing itself are infinitely superior to medical invasive intervention. This book puts you in touch with practical, non-toxic, gentle ways to assist your body as it heals itself. It is a superb resource... a must for your health library.

Hodge-podge of advice
I did not find this book helpful. Everything but the kitchen sink is thrown in here, uncritically, with little rhythm or reason. If you want a list of all the natural/naturopathic remedies that have ever been suggested, then you will like this book. I would prefer some evidence-based reasoning, and critical thinking by the author, to sort out what is helpful and what is not. I threw the book out, and stuck with my exercises and ice/heat, and have had success healing "the natural way."

Finally, common sense alternatives
I've been through it all. My low back pain didn't respond to the physiotherapist. My primary care didn't think it to be HIS problem. After weeks of complaints he finally passed me on to the orthopedic guy who wanted to fuse all of my spine bones. The second opinion of the neurosurgeon was to do nothing at all. Then I was back at square one until I read this book. Michelle's guidance and calm reassurance pointed me in directions I had never considered. I don't believe in magic and I think that most of the things that my friends and my doc says are crap, but Michelle got me through the worse times of my life. GET THIS BOOK IF YOU HURT!!!!! My review could have been THAT short.
