Melissa & Doug Wood Star Diner Restaurant Pretend Playset 5188 & Wood Food Groups Food Playset 271 Age 3+

This set is adorable, and my son loves serving me food from his diner. The reason it will not get 5 stars is because the food is printed differently on the front and back. For the price, they could have given more. For example, the steak is on one side, and fries on the other. So if you want to order steak AND fries, you’re out of luck!

I'm a big fan of Melisa and Doug products. 90% of my son's toys are M&D brand.We purchased the star dîner kitchen and this set. As always, the quality of the product is excellent. BUT, I received the same mug insert instead of the tea/coffee w/cream one.I don't want to be exaggerated and I know mistakes happen but I'm not gonna lie, I'm very disappointed. Is there anything you can do about it? Do I need to return the set even though I already open and ripped the box? Hope you can help me and/or give me any solution. Thank you!

I've been impressed with the Melissa & Doug line of toys. The quality is good and the toys are creatively designed for extra play value. This set went to a 2 year old who just got a play kitchen. Each piece can be flipped over to become something else - scrambled eggs flip to sunny side up, french fries flip to baked potato. The mug has a rim that holds a disk with the look of coffee on one side and tea on the opposite side. The cup has inserts that make your shake vanilla with sprinkles or chocolate with whipped cream. I was concerned that these flexible pieces would end up torn, but so far, they have not. They're pretty tough. There's a dry erase order pad and a menu with pictures and words. (Just a reminder - dry erase ink is not easily removed from clothing and fabric.) Lots of play value in this set and our little guy really loves it already.

Such a cute diner set! It has everything you would need to complete that diner look! We bought this to accessorize the M&D diner and it it great. The food is wood and double sided. The bell works just like a diner bell and the guest ticket comes with a dry erase marker. The money is just paper so toddlers may destroy it. I wish it came with two plates but everything is spot on for the diner look! Would definitely recommend!

We bought this play set with the play diner. It is a must! It wouldn’t be the same without this set. Perfect interactive play. They love using the menu and writing on the ticket. My son loves adding up the prices so he can pay his ticket at the end. Highly recommend!

My granddaughter will be having her fourth birthday and I considered sending this set back to Amazon. I decided she would like it, and I'll give it to her. The set has one plastic plate, one plastic "frying pan" that is not exactly shaped like a frying pan. The menu and "restaurant check" are cute. I think my granddaughter will like the play food items. The apron is very small and would not fit an older child. If I were to sew an apron for a child I'd probably make it 3-4 times the size of the one in the set. The play napkin is so little it hardly appears to be a napkin. My biggest wish about the set is that it included 2 plates and sets of silverware. As it is, it supports only "one customer". The set is the right sort of toy for a little girl who spends a lot of time in imaginary play. For that reason, I'll keep it. Maybe I can find a way to expand the tableware so she can serve two customers at once.

My son and daughter love to play restaurant. They are 10 and 8. This set is more for 3-6 age range, but they still can use most of the items.

We never know what our imaginative little ones will want to create. Mine, at age two, decided to play restaurant and even created the script for it. Soon, he was choosing things from around the house to add to the game, including our credit cards and paper to create menus. To the rescue: this great set that includes thoughtfully designed items to add realism to the game. The sturdy, laminated menu has photos of all the food items that are included in the set. There are realistic "smoothies" and "shakes", an apron, a coffee pot, a plate and silverware, and more. This will provide years of fun and is well worth the price.

I really like this set. From the moment we opened it my 2.5 yr old loved it. She was walking around taking orders from me and my husband and they weren't accurate when delivered but she didn't care. She liked making the food and serving it, especially coffee. My one wish is if there was a way to make it look like there was actually coffee in the pot but otherwise it's awesome. I highly recommend, the set seems well made and it will last for some time. Daughter isn't old enough to play with he money yet or use the pen but I have set them aside for now. This would also make a great gift. I especially like the bell it comes with, I didn't even realize it came with the set until I opened it up.

My son loves his new cafe set. We do wish there was one more place setting, as far as the plate and cups go, but he likes to serve his brothers individually, quite happily. The quality is great, and the items are double sided so that the set is quite complete.

All my daycare kids love this ! They have started playing with everything as soon as I got it out of the box . I thought it was going to flimsily but it was a harder plastic for the inserts for the milk shake and the coffee . Love it all I would so recommend this for anyone ! Love Melissa and Doug as it's super long lasting.

My granddaughter really likes this set. Every time she comes over, goes straight to the box with this utensils. Pretends making us breakfast and coffee 😊.We play together quite a while before she gets bored and move on to other toys.I highly recommend this.

Very nice restaurant play set but I consider that it should be cheaper.
