This book was a huge blessing to me
I don't know if I've read any other books like this - a record of a Christian life written by a man in his 90s. It's very different reading a book by a 20-something year-old Christian celebrity and reading a book by a man at the end of his life who has the track record and fruit to show that what he's saying is true. This book made me think about a lot of new things, have great conversations with my husband, and gave us ideas for ministry. It also made my heart more soft to the goodness and faithfulness of God towards His children (and their children to a thousand generations!).It's a long read, I guess because his was a long and full life :) I recomme this book to anyone, Christian or not. It will bless you and increase your faith.

Walk with the wise through Jim Wilson's autobiography.
I have now read three books by Jim Wilson, including "Grace Upon Grace." Each helped me meditate on the glories of the gospel and the joy of walking with Christ. This volume is my favorite of his works so far. It is full of excitement, edification, enjoyment and enrichment. But it is more. As a Christian man in his thirties, I face a unique challenge. My generation has been late in reaching maturity. To the extent that we despise or ignore our elders, we do not walk with the wise. But, once awake to this sin, we have a challenge. Who will look to? The contemporary evangelical age has bred a thousand intellectual leaders, but where are the saints? Who will give a clear example of a life lived in service to Christ? For that, we must turn to bold and single-minded generations. The ones who had their faith purified by the trials of war and lost themselves to gain Christ. Our grandparents and great-grandparents. The generations of Jim Wilson, Billy Graham, Jim Elliot and Corrie ten Boom. This book is clear-sighted and encouraging. You will come away with an example of grace-filled Christian living that will inspire you to lay aside every weight that hinders and run with perseverance the race that is set before you.

Read this and meet Christ
What a book. What a man. What a God. I’ve had the blessing of meeting one-on-one with Jim Wilson on several occasions, and he has alway shared the stories of God’s grace in his life and put free books in my hand. My first reaction to his autobiography was, “I’ve just been hanging out with Jim Wilson for several hours. Cool!” Then I corrected that. “I’ve been hanging out with Jesus for several hours.” I’ve seldom met a more faith-filled man. This book is a steadfast companion for walking in obedience. Read it and meet Christ.

Thouroughly enjoyable and edifying.
I have not quite finished this book, but have enjoyed it immensely. The style is very "conversational." Its like the author is sitting there sharing his life in stories. He doesn't dwell too long on anything. The episodes are to the point and helpful. He mentions many struggles he has dealt with himself, as well as struggles he has seen others deal with. These viewpoints have been illuminating for me.Great book from a man who lived as a Christian though the 20th century. The book is a sturdy paperback. The paper and font are good quality, easy to read. Not too big or small.
