The media could not be loaded. At first i was a little worried while deciding to buy the tawa as there were mixed reviews about it. But after receiving the product i am feeling relieved. It is as expected. A lot of people complained that it is heavy but we cannot expect cast iron to be of light weight. Further to prevent rusting and retain the seasoning we have take the initial care as instructed like we take of any other cast iron cookware for the first few months to make it work life long be it from whichever brand. After using it for 3 days i could now differentiate the tawa from the one we get from local vendors. The finishing is excellent but seasoning doesn't stay long, it is like a blackened layer which comes off just by slight scrubbing. You will have to depend on your own seasoning. The one which i had purchased locally and seasoned myself doesn't require reseasoning if used regularly and the seasoning layer also never comes off. But still I like the product because i do not have put any effort in cleaning the product which i had to put while cleaning those i purchased locally. And it doesn't require so much of seasoning time which the local ones take. Look at the dosa i made. How easily it came off. It is just that give it some time. Use it regularly. It will work amazingly

But the heat resistant canvas grip is missing and it gets extremely hot to handle the tawa

First off, we have used many skillets / cast iron tawas in the past over last 20 years or so, so the concept is not new for us.we trusted Vinod as we had previously used their products, but this iron Tawa was a first.in the first two attempts we were unable to get proper heat into the tawa, Note: we followed all their instructions to the T.on our third try, this tawa got a CRACK on its own, which of course surprised us. We never knew , this was just the beginning of a very bad experience with this brand.It's ok, sometimes, products aren't well made. but contacting customer care of Vinod has left us extremely disappointed and disgruntled.1) the Lady who attends Vinod customer care calls, is to say the least Horrible. no mannerisms to talk,2) our call was picked after trying for atleast 5-6 times. and we have spoken thrice in a span of 30 days.3) we were asked to mail the team with pictures and to keep patience while her boss ( customer care lady's boss) replies.4) her boss didn't reply till we sent 3 reminders and after 19 days of original mail. extremely poor response times.5) the lady scolded us, stating , nothing is wrong with their products and if we want to further investigate , we should courier them our product,6) same was said in a shabbily written mail, blaming customer about how we don't have uinderstanding of operation of a tawa.Ofcourse , I got a feeling about warranty claim won't be taken forward with this company.It's extremely poor customer service , totally Unprofessional, and if you cannot deal with customer complaints, please don't sit in that position and blame customers without listening to them. have a polite demeanor, those are basics.I will never consider purchasing Vinod products here onwards. I would have accepted my Money gone down the drain, but getting such response for a product I paid for , when there isn't even my fault is pathetic.I am writing this review after a month as I didn't want to write in anger.future buyers BEWARE.

I don't get sefty sleeves on box

The media could not be loaded. Found rust on tawa after unboxing, this not excepted on this price, we can get batter quality in low price. Free Safety Sleeve also missing in the package.

I have searched many brands finally I found this roti tawa. It is heavy in weight, first day chapatis was sticking to tawa but after using regularly it is becoming soften and chapatis are getting more tasty on cast iron and it is very healthy instead of eating on nonstick pans. For cast iron we should do seasoning with any veg oil. The more we do seasoning more it works well and should be maintained without getting any rust to it.

It is very very nice tawa. I make disas so easily. Does not stick and cooks healthy food because it is not made of non stick chemical material.One suggestion, they should provide a wooden handle as it becomes too hit to hold.

Good quality product. I'm a guy who's used to lifting heavy weights. I wouldn't lug this around in the kitchen because of its weight. As it's solid iron, it's a workout just taking it out of storage and placing it on the stovetop. If you've had a cast iron, heavy tawa before, it'll stay on a stovetop and you won't move it much and this is what you want, go for it. Don't buy just to try it as shipping is more than 50% of its price.

A super tawa, built like a tank for great heat retention and distribution. Only downside is if also using for pancakes/griddle cakes you'll not be flipping them- it's heavy. (Go with a carbon steel one if weight might be an issue for you.)Preferring a glass smooth surface I abraded the cooking surface smooth with coarse wet'n'dry paper and seasoned thrice with flax/linseed oil before using (just as I would with a Lodge skillet, for instance.) Seasoning on areas I didn't tamper with seems robust :)
