No Regrets About This Purchase
I had never heard of a Spurtle until I bought a package of a premium oatmeal. On the packaging was information that this brand of oatmeal had won the Golden Spurtle award for a particular year in Scotland. One thing led to another, and I ended up purchasing this spurtle. I am glad I did. Making oat meal and oat bran is easier and even more enjoyable. This is good quality and does not feel rough; handles well.

Makes a big difference in the quality of cooked oatmeal
I had long wondered what the big deal was with the “Spurtle”. I am a big oatmeal eater and have been so for years. When I would read in the directions on the back of a package of Bob’s Red Mill Oatmeal “to stir the oatmeal with a Spurtle” I would think I must be missing out on something, but what? Well, after decades of stirring my oats while cooking with a spoon I finally broke down and bought myself this here Spurtle. Lands A Goshen, what a difference! Everything about the oatmeal prep and taste experience has now been transformed by this simple change to the process. The Spurtle improves the texture of the oatmeal while cooking by making the process of cooking the oats and cooking liquid of choice together more uniformly. The oats simply cook up more fluffy and hearty with better texture and bite. Then, after you’ve removed the cooked oats to your serving bowl you are left with a sauce pan that is easier to clean than before. The rounded wooden knob end of the Spurtle used to stir and fold the oats and cooking liquid prevents any form of sticking to the pan and clean up is a breeze. Long live the Spurtle!

Love it!
I love having this spurtle in my kitchen collection. It’s such a beautiful piece, I leave it out in a crock on my kitchen counter as it’s too pretty to hide in a drawer. It’s very functional, very high quality for the money and I will be purchasing more for wedding gifts. Highly recommend!

Love this
Makes a big difference in the breakfast. I use my cutting board oils on this and only hand wash it and have no issues.

Rough wood traps food particles
It’s the right height but the wood is rough not smooth and it has a nubbin on the bottom that holds food and is difficult to clean. I rarely used it but the other day I took my saw and some sandpape, cut off the terminal nubbin and sandpapered it smooth.now I am using it more but always noticing how ugly the wood is to touch. I might go back to my original idea of buying an oak dowel at the hardware and making myself a smooth implement for mixing my sourdough. Regret spending the money on this one.

Magic Wand
The spurtle is gorgeous and well made - I’ve washed it a few times now and used it to cook my morning porridge and so far it’s held up great. It’s a lovely item!

Vraiment super !

Nice to have
Für meinen Haferbrei benutze ich zum Rühren einen Silikonschaber und das funktiert sehr gut.Der Holzrührer ist auch ok, aber eigentlich bei mir überflüssig- ganz pragmatisch gesehen.
