Slides around- not good for heavy hip thrusts
I prefer a foam pad. This doesn’t stay on the barbell well and slides around easily. Not that comfortable for heavy hip thrusting

UPDATED REVIEW** Look for a different brand, cute but ineffective.
UPDATE: This company reached out to me and asked for my advice/concerns. After expressing, they let me know they refunded all my money and are in the process of already changing the designing of the cushion. They also said they will be sending me the new design once it's out of production, free of charge! Superb customer service so far!Not sure who has reviewed this in the past but I've been using this for hip thrusts...not even that heavy. After the first couple reps, the cushion is pushed forward so the actual bar ends up pushed through the hole and you may as well not even have a cushion. You can see from the pics that the bar won't stay cradled in the intended space. It's so uncomfortable. Ante up and go with ROGUE or similar brand.

Best Squat and hip thrust pad investment.
The media could not be loaded. Perfect for my heavy lifting. Barbell Squats and Barbell hip thrusts. I love the neck groove, fits perfectly around my shoulders when doing barbell squats.

I cant believe someone got it right
Well, well. Whomever designed this squat pad deserves credit.1. The pad has flexibility- I used it on a curl bar for walking lunges and the open middle space on the pad allows the pad to bend without the velcro attachments peeling apart. Also, the middle is slightly more narrow than the rest of the pad to allow a clean fit for my neck so its feel as if my neck slots into the pad. (I gave 5 stars for this reason)2. It has Thickness to absorb pressure around the neck and shoulders but without being to bulky and it keeps the bar away from the neck spinal cord.3. I did notice you have to keep the open side in the up position to avoid contact of my neck with the bar and like all pads it will spin a little while in use, but the velcro straps have Home Depot quality so I cant imagine it ever falling off while in use.3. I purchased the black camo with pink and it's a very attractive piece of equipment that others will ask where it was purchased4. Finally, I also purchased their resistance band at the same time with the same Color scheme design and I must say the quality of it is also 5 starts. This company is onto something. It's as if they read my mind on what I want with fitness accessories.

Only used it a couple times and the stitching is coming apart!! Disappointing
I spent a lot of time looking at reviews to find the perfect barbell pad with enough padding for hip thrusts but also the right amount of padding for squatting. This barbell pad is the perfect size for both. However, I got it delivered on January 15th, 2021, and I have already noticed the stitching on the FITGIRL barbell pad is starting to deteriorate. I'm really bummed out because I love the barbell pad itself and I have taken great care of it but I am definitely upset about the stitching starting to unravel and wanting to come undone when I have not even had it a full month.I have reached out to customer service about it but they have not responded yet. I will update if they respond to help me out or not.

It's okay
Lets start with what I DO like:-Design: the color is super cute!-Durability: I've used it for a couple of weeks now. The velcro is strong and does not come apart. No tears and no frayingWhat I DON'T like:-Comfort. It's not horrible. It's much better than the overused pads that are at the gym for public use, and its much better than the one I had gotten from Walmart. However, it's still not super padded and still definitely leaves bruises on my pubic bone from medium-weight hip thrusts. I'm scared to go up in weight because the padding just isn't effective enough.-Non-slip on the inside: I initially thought I would like this because it means the pad won't move around. Wrong. It may work well for a free barbell, but on a smith machine, this means unracking the bar is damn near impossible. And when I finally do get it unracked, the hole of the pad ends up being on my pubic bone and the bar slips out through the hole.-The shape: Like I said above, the bar slips through the hole if the pad is rotated the wrong way. Ouch lolOverall, it's not horrible for the price. Definitely could be made much better though

Thick, firm, but cushiony.
Was afraid The Best Squat Pad and Hip Thrust Pad was going to be too big for my standard 1" bar, but nope. Fits beautifully (Velcro's on tight)...And works even better. I had purchased a Weider bar pad from Walmart ($10), but this new one will do twice the job that the Weider would, & not all that much more money when you think about what you are getting. And glad it doesn't have all those extra straps on the outside. I would think that would be uncomfortable. Really happy with product.
