Craft-tastic Bracelet Box - Jewelry Making Craft Kit for Ages 8+

A present so little feedback, but it lasted a young teenager most of an afternoon, very happily and sucessfully.

I found myself quite frustrated trying to make these bracelets! However, you might feel differently.The kit for the bracelets does include almost everything you'd need. You'll only need your own scissors, tape and measuring tape. The beads included are quite small, and there is not a lot of extra cord or thread, but it's all there. The material seems of fairly good quality, except perhaps the small plastic beads.I tried making all the bracelets in order, but ran into problems from the start. I've never used a threading wire before, and somehow, the instructions didn't help. I found that once I got the beads on the wire, I wasn't able to get them on the elastic. When they went on, the elastic was somehow doubled, and I couldn't undouble it, and there wasn't room for the beads. I'm sure I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't figure out what from the fairly minimal instructions and pictures.It went on from there. With the exception of the bracelet that was just a ribbon you write on, none came out for me. I did manage the Lark's Head Knot to put a cord on a metal ring, but once I got the cord around my hand by my knuckles, as instructed, I didn't have enough hands to knot it! When I tried braiding three strands of cord knotted together at one end, everything got tangled by the long threads. By the time I was trying the last bracelet, I was feeling pretty useless! Not the feeling you want after doing a craft kit.I do think I got some ideas and a little knowledge from the kit, and I plan to experiment a bit with threads and cords and beads in the future, so that is something. If you are pretty crafty, this would probably be a fun activity, but if you are already crafty, this might be a little basic for you. Or maybe it's just me!

Gave as gift to my seven year old granddaughter. She was very pleased.
