Great for Avatar Fans & Their Kids!
Mei Nakamura and Bao Luu’s “I Am Ang” is a great book for young “Avatar: The Last Airbender” fans! It summarizes parts of Ang’s life without too much of the series’ darkness, though it honors the spirit and heart of the show. Luu’s art is particularly beautiful, accurately capturing characters’ likenesses in the Little Golden Book style. A great book for parents who grew up with the show to read to their kids – and can you believe that the fans who were kids when it first aired are now old enough to have kids of their own?

This book spoils the entire show
Great idea, horrible execution. This book is described as an introduction to the world of Avatar and Aang as a character. But it literally spoils how Aang defeats Ozai. What is the point in that? I'd hoped to gift this to my nephew as a mean to introduce him to the world of Avatar before he one day is old enough to experience it himself. Now I will be returning it because I obviously don't want to spoil the entire show for him. It's a shame, because the illustrations are well done and cute, but it's wasted because of this glaring flaw. Unless you actually want to spoil the plot for your kids, stay away.
