Washi paper is a traditional Japanese paper that’s made from tree bark and the mulberry plant. This paper is fibrous with string-like pieces in the pulp which gives the paper strength and durability. This is ideal paper for decoupaging and collaging, because it’s so strong, it is also a great layering piece since it’s translucent.I love handmade paper and have collected it for years to use in my various art projects. This set comes with four large sheets that are rolled over a cardboard tube. The paper lays flat once unrolled and each sheet is made beautifully. The price is roughly $3.00 per sheet, which is a great value compared to buying something similar at a craft shop or at a paperie.I can happily recommend this paper and will say, if you aren’t into crafting, there are a myriad of other ways to use it.

Has a nice texture, very thin and weak after wetting. I used this as a top layer on a lamp shade to give some texture. For that purpose it was ok.

This is a beautiful paper, although thin, that could probably be used for many art and craft projects. In the past I have purchased this type of paper at an art supply store and it was rather expensive. I have recently seen mulberry used in a beautiful white and gold journal and I want to try to make something like that. It is a soft, beautiful paper.
