Needed a 2nd hood and have been happy with the brand so tried this hood. Very glad I did!
I'm teaching my son to weld and he claimed my good automatic hood I had so I was stuck using my old traditional hood I used 30 years ago when I learned to weld. Figured out pretty quick I didn't like that. Since we are already using an ArcCaptain welder, accessories, and wire, I was comfortable with the brand so figured I'd give their hood a shot. Found one with a nice design and color pattern at a good price and got it. Tried it out today and am very pleased with it. The brightness control seems to work great and the response speed to starting welds and the hood darkening is exactly where it should be. Highly recommend

Fantastic helmet and amazing clarity while welding
Super clear visibility while welding, the true color on this helmet is amazing! The only downside side of the helmet is the shade knob on it is pretty loose and will move on you while lifting and dropping your helmet to weld. This helmet is the best I’ve had though and outperforms top of the line helmets!

Battery Compartment Might Catch on Your Glasses-
Functions great. The only catch is- if you got wide glasses, the battery compartment tends to catch on the side of your glasses when you first put this helmet on- but its a minor inconvenience and you can nudge the helmet over afterwards- and maybe I will try to reposition the battery holder to the top or front somehow-- but I got this as a backup anyway so its good!

A great helmet. Surprisingly clear.
This helmet is really, really good. You can see so well out of it and the window is so large. It's kind of frustrating I bought a Hobart brand name welder and helmet 10 years or so ago. It was the Blaze helmet. The controls kind of sucked, the window was narrow, couldn't see out of it very well. And the screen recently went bad from sitting. But the helmet looked great. You look at the cost of Miller helmets, Hobart helmets, any replacement parts for these. ($120 for replacement lens assembly) Nothing they offer is even competitive. They have fallen back to the Apple pricing strategy, when they could compete. And then you think about what it is. What does it cost? Are they including some kind of better technology? Better controls? Anything! And they're not. It's literally molded plastic with a standardized square in the front. Beyond that, you source or make a lens and you insert it. This doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.

Decent helmet!
Bought this to replace an auto-darkening helmet I bought a few years back. After using it for a week or so doing hobby welding, mostly TIG, some MIG, I'll give it an enthusiastic thumbs-up. The settings are easy to use, it comes with a few spare items, and it has a replaceable battery. It also has provision for cheater lenses, which is nice. I hate trying to wear reading glasses under a helmet. Light-weight, adjustable fit, and seems to be good quality.I'd buy this again with no qualms.

Works perfect
The helmet works well. Darkens quick and id really like the natural color of the lens. The headgear is a different story, and the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. The headgear is difficult to adjust and I never can get it real comfortable on my head while being able to see well out the hood.Overall a decent buy for the money. Will work ok for my intention of occasional home use. I wouldn't recommend for daily use though.
