We have a keeper.
So my wife told me what she likes about this bag and said this about it. It's a nice jewel tone teal color. It has one simple logo, no other extraneous decoration. Seems sturdy, the belt is strong enough to stay secure carrying two full water bottles. It has stretchy net pockets accommodate bottles of different diameter up to at least 3.5 inches. Lots of zippered pockets will protect belongings from weather or falling out. Two zippered side pockets will easily hold ID, credit card, keys, money and more. iPhone fits nicely into back pockets which are not within immediate reach unless the user spins the pack to the side or front of the body. She likes it very much so is a keeper. I have to ask, could they come up with an actual name vs. throwing a bunch of letters together that seems to be a thing with things made in China these days? I'm just saying. My wife just received this so we cannot talk about durability over the long run yet and I will be back if something of concern pops up.

The ideal size (for me).
I did a series of day hikes in southern Nevada with a fellow who knew that area well. I travel with a standard 50-liter backpack suitable for multi-day expeditions and was preparing to bring it, when he countered, “Leave that. I want you to enjoy these day hikes, and that means carrying as little as possible.” He handed me a hip pack, and I loaded it with two water bottles and a day’s worth of trail snacks. And he was right. Given the miles we were covering on our daylight outings, carrying less was much better. So I looked for a hip pack similar to the one he’d loaned me and found this one.Oh, and for what it’s worth, a single hiking staff was more useful over that mixed rocky/sandy terrain than were standard trekking poles. The longer staff was especially helpful with balance where footing was precarious, for the same reason that physics favors tightrope walkers who carry long poles for balance. My criteria for a hip pack was simple: Like his spare, it must comfortably hold two bicycle-style water bottles and enough snacks for a full day of hiking. This pack fulfills those basic functions. How much will it hold in addition to two standard water bottles? Well, that depends on how snuggly you wear it. The tighter the pack is on your waste, the tighter the various compartments and their openings, especially the zippers on the belt pockets. I’ve included a photo of what I managed to quickly stuff in its various compartments … with room to spare. Clearly, there’s ample space for a couple of pounds of trail mix, if that’s your preferred fuel.Anyway, this pack was still quite comfortable with that pictured load. And I found it most comfortable with the cargo in front — within easy reach — rather than over my backside. One of the listing’s photos shows one worn as a shoulder sling, and yes, you can, but I don’t think that’s at all practical or particularly comfortable.A critical aspect of this pack is its overall size. Too big, and it would be uncomfortable. Too small, and it would not be useful. But I think this one nails the ideal size. That said, I’m a small fellow with a 29-inch waist, so I don’t have the circumference to wear anything larger. The various materials of this pack feel of high quality, and all stitching is neat and uniform. I’m confident this pack will stand up to years of use. I especially like the cinch straps that tighten to secure the water bottles. Without them, full bottles might work their way out of the mesh pockets during vigorous activity, but that’s not an issue with this pack.Hope this helps. Clear skies!

Large capacity with plenty of compartments
This is a large-capacity waist pack. The zippers have extensions on them that allow for easy zipping. The main zipper compartment has a nylon liner that divides the space into two sections. The back part of the pack, which is the side nearest to your skin, has a thin layer of padding that helps with comfort. However, it has a feature that I don’t understand. The entire backside of the pack has a mesh covering to help with comfort during hot and humid days. However, an extra zippered pocket has been sown over the mesh on the main compartment, which eliminates the advantages of the mesh covering (see photo). Also, this is not a good place for a zippered compartment because this is the part of the pack that presses against your back, so storing items in this pocket would be counterproductive unless you use it for credit cards and ID.The exterior has a large zippered pocket, two mesh pouches with compression straps, and a small zippered pocket on each end of the belt. The belt is wide enough to provide comfort when carrying a heavy load. The manufacturer says it’s constructed of durable polyester and water-resistant nylon. However, you may want to carry a zip-lock storage bag to place your expensive electronics inside in the event you get caught in a serious rain shower.Overall, it is a quality hip pack that gives you plenty of good features for the price point.
