Good for the Money
This is a good quality chute for swimming resistance work for the price. The only downside is that the strap holding the chute is not adjustable.

Variety
First of all, working out in the pool is a challenge unto itself unless you’re just doing swimming. Second, swimming endless laps does build endurance, but for explosiveness, potential hypertrophy, and mental grit, these additions are going to do the trick.

good way to test tethered swimming, not the most efficient setup
My last tethered swimming setup finally broke from too much time in the pool and sun. Of all the systems I've used over the years, this one works, but is not my favorite. I am using this in my backyard pool when swimming for fitness so I don't have to stop and turn so much. The pool is about 36' long, and so I couldn't get a good grasp of how effective the parachute is before reaching the wall. But for the swim belt, you need to put the other piece on that holds the D ring you clip the tether to. Then you secure the pole connector loop - I secured mine to the railing of my steps. The tether line is a hollow bungee, which you clip to the loop and your belt. When swimming, the tether would catch or rub against my feet or the back of my calf. The loop on the belt will also shift and if you aren't straight try to go sideways on the belt, further pulling you to the side. When doing something like breaststroke, you can feel the tether bungee pulling you backwards when you glide, so you do move forward and back a little instead of in place. So this system does work and will allow you to static swim - but it does take a little getting used to the different feel on your stroke. I think this is good as an inexpensive way to test out if you will actually like static swimming and will do it before investing more money in a little better setup.

Resistance Training Hurts ...and ouch my shoulders are killing me.
There are 2 ways to set this up - attach to some strong support (like a ladder) or use the parachute.I am using an HOA pool so I can't attach to the sides of the pool. I've tried using the parachute and a single lap 25 yards there...and back again....raised my heart rate and slaughtered my shoulders. I know I'm still a novice but these are a bit like trying to do weighted pull ups when you haven't yet mastered body weight kipping pull ups. Once upon a time I could do those, but that was 4 kids ago I need more strength, and while this will help get it there, I'm probably not quite ready for these. If you are more than a novice, give these a try. Your shoulders won't thank you, but I bet your speed improves.

Works great with a small pool
I have a 10x16 foot above ground pool that isn't the greatest to swim laps in but with one this belt that holds you in place you can do it. If I didn't have this device I'd be from wall to wall in about 3 strokes. I love having it to help with my lap swimming and for a great low impact exercise.

Excellent for Home Swim Training
This swimming resistance training set has been very helpful for my workouts. It's easy to set up and provides a solid way to build strength and endurance in the pool. The adjustable belt fits comfortably, and the resistance from the parachute adds a great challenge. My only wish is for a longer or additional pole connect loop strap, as finding the right place to bind it at home can be tricky. Overall, it's a great addition to my swimming routine, making it possible to train effectively in a smaller pool.

Great backyard workout
This system is easy to set up and offers a great, distance-swimming workout in smaller pools. We hooked it up to the pool fence and it stretched enough to reach the middle of the pool. It offered enough resistance for a good workout, but not so much to make it unmanageable. The parachute offers extra lag if want more resistance in your workout. Highly recommend!
