Works well, providing you know your measurements and when you do it's great! Easy to install and 5 keys with it although the keys are smaller than I expected, theyfeel sturdy and I don't think they will bend or break as easily as others

this Lock seems excellent value for money. However, I had to figure out what may be obvious for some in that you need an Allen key to remove the thumb key if it does not fit through your door plate. Make sure you have an Allen key!

Make sure you measure the door well as various sizes. Mines was 100mm long with an off centre.Measuring from the screw holding the lock - internal length 45mm and external 55mm.Seems to work well although key was a bit rough going in at first but all ok now.

This is the second of two of these XFORT locks I've received through the Vine program (ordered and fitted together); this having a silver keyway and the other brass. They have the same specification otherwise.My thoughts on both are the same. Essentially the build, finish and feel of these locks is all absolutely fine and seems reasonable for the money, when considered in isolation.However earlier in the year I purchased and fitted two identically-specified "GreenteQ Orion" locks from Amazon that were at the time (and currently remain) 20% less money than these XFORT locks. I'm not aware of any feature or functional difference that would justify this, so the quality must be better?The problem is that while the Orions impressed me hugely with their premium feel and excellent finish, these XFORT locks (while good) don't meet quite the same standards when compared directly. This is the opposite of what I would have expected.Mostly it comes down to visible machining marks on the lock body and keys, a slightly rougher chromed surface finish, etc; nothing too significant; but definitely not quite as well finished.I cannot mark these down as there is nothing wrong with them and their value is still reasonable for a high-specification Euro Cylinder lock; but I wouldn't recommend buying them over the Orions unless there was a monetary advantage to doing so.

These XFORT locks are nicely made and arrive packaged inside an appropriately sized cardboard box alongside a set of five keys and a screw for installing it into place. Though, in most cases people will already have the required screw for fixing it in place but even still it’s nice that they’ve included it for those with new doors or have damaged or misplaced the original screw.I like that they’ve got several charts and images showing the correct way to measure your existing cylinder as it’ll help people ensure they’ve got the correctly sized lock for their installation. Generally speaking being a 5mm off on one side or the other isn’t a huge deal but with these having the thumb-turn knob on the internal side the closer you can get the better when it comes to sizing, especially on the internal side.On arrival, I had the lock out of the package and into the intended PVC door in less than five minutes for a basic swap from an ageing existing lock. The process is the same as any other cylinder swap, you just have to undo one screw and then use the existing key or thumb-turn knob to get the lock into the right orientation, and it’ll slide right out of the door. If you’ve got a broken lock that has been damaged and/or tampered with then the process might be a bit more involved, but a basic swap couldn’t be any easier.XFORT isn’t a massive name in the lock industry, but I've seen them around more than a few times in various stores and websites selling security hardware, so they’re not exactly a no-name brand coming out of nowhere. The three star BSI Kitemark also implies that the locks are actually tested and have met certain specifications which is also reassuring and the build quality and the design reflects other 3-star locks I’ve used and installed from other brands.As far as value for money goes the pricing of around £32.99 to £34.99 depending on the length is around the typical asking price for a 3-star cylinder on Amazon at the moment, so the value isn’t terrible at all. Ultimately I can’t fault the lock itself, it feels smooth to lock and unlock and everything looks and feels like it’s made to a good standard throughout. Being able to get a bunch of different configurations including thumb turn and double keyed locks in singles and alike packs is also great and gives you the flexibility to choose what suits your needs best.Happy to recommend if you’re after a good quality source for 3-star BSI cylinders in a variety of form-factors, sizes and various combinations of keyed-alike, thumb turn and double keyed.
