The stacking elements connect to roof rack crossbars in seconds using a combination of bolts and knobs. The resulting hold is secure, and allows for easy adjustment along the roof rack when using additional roof rack accessories. To load kayaks, simply lift them into place, with the cockpit pointed out. The three rubberized contact points of the carrier elements protect the exterior of kayaks from incidental damage, and hold them in place as they are secured. Kayaks are cinched between the tops of the stacking elements and rack crossbars using side tie-down straps. Bow and stern straps secure the kayak at the front and rear of the vehicle. "J" design requires no adjusting, and rubberized contact points protect boat exteriors.
