In my opinion every family should have one of these for camping and unforeseen emergencies. It is well built, and unless you store it on sea bottom, or run over it over with a bulldozer, it should last the rest of your’s and your children’s lives. I’ve used mine quite a few times, cooking meals using the hobo stove attachment, and boiling water, where it really shines. If I ever turn on the tap at home and nothing comes out, I can still have all the sterile drinking water that can be had using a couple of handfull of twigs and any pond, river, creek or lake water, found everywhere. It takes me 6 to 7 minutes to start a twig fire and boil water using my Kelly Kettle. I store a ready supply of sticks and twigs in 2 small boxes for convenience in my garage. The only 2 suggestions I would add is to carry some foil with you to line the exterior of the stainless steel cookware that comes with the kit. That way you don’t have to scrub off the black soot when cooking on the fire pan/hobo stove. Just throw the foil away. The last suggestion is to pack a box of those birthday candles that you can’t blow out in your Kelly Kettle Kit. It makes it almost impossible to not start a twig/stick fire. Everything fits in the green carrying bag furnished with the Base Camp kit.

This can be used for boiling water to make camp food or cook on. Because it works on wood twigs or any kind of burnable material. You can use it anywhere and you don't have to be in a forest. You can actually use this in the middle of a desert. All you need are small twigs

Works as advertised! Works like a rocket stove or any other twig stove. Really fast time to boil and it will let you know when it's ready with the whistle bolt in to the silicon pour spout plug. I went with the Base Camp size as I am now a car camper. There are plenty of sizes to choose from.

Added water filled it with sticks and it boiled seemingly in no time. How can this be something I have not heard of when it has been around so long? Not the lightest thing but for car camping and emergency use it is a great option. 1 small issue dealt with by customer service and replacement sent the next day. I am very impressed at this point.

So I initially ordered this item from Amazon, but had to return it as several items were missing from the kit and they couldn’t send me just the missing items. So I ordered it direct from the company.The Kelly Kettle is great. I have several things I would improve on it like the size and thickness of the carry case. Feel like for the price of the kit they could have given us something better. It was hardly sufficient for the kit as ordered, and as I had items I wanted to add to it for my camping trips I ordered a small duffel bag that would fit the original kit plus the additional cook items I wanted to supplement it with. So solved that problem with an additional expenditure.Moving on to the cooking items included in the kit, I wish they had put a copper bottom on the pans and were made of thicker stainless steel. I have a very old camping cook set with the same kind of folding handles that do have copper bottoms and thicker stainless steel plus lids included and I added those in my larger duffle bag. So with some supplementation I managed to put together a complete camping cookware set with everything I need. I can still remove the original Kelly Kettle Ultimate Base Kit I bought to keep in the truck for emergency use in a more compact package, or keep it in the larger duffle for a complete camping set up.The Kettle is awesome for very efficiently boiling and heating water. If you just need a rocket stove I feel there are better options out there but the Kelly Kettle is the best option if boiling drinking water is something you need in addition to being able to cook on it. The fact that you can do both simultaneously with all the items provided in the kit makes it a must have for people who do more primitive camping. Also great to have just for emergencies.I’ve used these before in all kinds of conditions, including deep snow with mostly wet fuel, melting snow for water, and they are simply impressive.

I absolutely love the Kelly Kettle. I ordered the ultimate base camp kit and I'm so glad I did. It's all you need for camping or day hikes by yourself or with someone else. It boils water in minutes. Beautifully designed. If you're an outdoor enthusiast or you just want to have something for an emergency or road trip, this is perfect. No regrets with this purchase. Highly recommend.

I bought the Kelly Kettle Base Camp kit for my family camping trips, but it is too great of a kit to only use a couple times per year. This kit efficiently uses any combustible to boil up to 54 ounces of water in 4-5 minutes, and allows for additional cooking at the same time. I don't have to plan out how much propane I may need, buy it in advance, or carry it! The rocket stove is self contained, and once the water is boiling I slip on the hobo stove attachment to continue cooking, or just to have a small self contained campfire. I thank God that I don't "need" the Kelly Kettle, but I wish I could afford to give them as gifts to all of the homeless people that could really use this fantastic set-up.
