No brainer when on a budget, perfect mobo.
This mobo is sturdy, reliable, long lasting, great value for the money, I had an accident while replacing a cooler and damaged a 5700X, the mobo was perfectly fine, I'm still using this now with a 5800X and is working great, good temperatures, good performance, the aesthetics of this mobo are not the best ones but come on, it is very cheap for everything you already get.

good value for money
Not the most expensive board, works great though. Has good audio options, and good connectivity (with 6 sata ports and a nice amount of PCIe slots). Worked out of the box with my new 5700x

Highly rated gaming board. Amazon price better than others.
B550 mobos are made by many manufacturers. MSI usually makes good quality, high performance components. This is no excretion.B550 is a chipset. The boards built around it vary widely in quality and ports. I did a lot of research before selling on this one.The connections exist on this board are overkill, which is a great thing! I have over 23TB of storage across 6 drives (2 nVME, 2 SATA3 internal SSDs, 2 SATA3 HDDs for backups), an AIO CPU water cooler, a beefy vid card with high bus demands, etc. The only thing I had to install as a supplement is a 4x PCIe board with 2 more SATA3 plugs. The board has 6 on it, already. I needed 8. 6 is more then some other manufacturers put on their B550's.Very happy with this purchase. Getting very good performance in diagnostic testing. It runs cool. The chipset temp rarely goes above 32c even under heavy load, and this board is not water cooled. Pretty impressive.

Great buy
Good motherboard easy to update the bios with flash drive. Works good with my new Ryzen 7 5700x

Consider the long of the board, and be careful to update it
The media could not be loaded. It's a great motherboard, affordable and a good option if you want to create a PC with mid specs. You must be careful if you choose it, cause in short case maybe doesn't fit because the board is long. In my personal case it fitted just without any problem. Sometimes you must update the BIOS to use your processing unit, but you can ask if they can send it updated, or also update yourself through a flash easily.

NvME SSD slots
So this is a great motherboard, but there is one flaw to this board. The M.2 slots are a bit wonky. They will both work, but right out of the box they might not. I spent probably a good week trying to figure out why my second NvME SSD wouldn’t work in the board. I was constantly tweaking BIOS setting to get it to show up (cause it didn’t even show up in the BIOS). After struggling for a week I decided to restore the settings in the BIOS. Once I did that and restarted the PC the second drive showed up. It may be that the settings out of the box were bad, but I can’t definitely say. So if that is the issue you’re having that is what I recommend to do as this is a great board for budget builders.

Works well
Works great. Needed a new motherboard so I could upgrade my graphics card and CPU. I don't think it came with screws, so I had to use the screws from my old motherboard.

I'm going to be that guy to give them one star
I bought this way back in February, and it didn't take too long before it just would not post one day. I used it in the morning, that afternoon it was no longer working. I apologize to AMD because I seriously though it was the processor. When I spoke to CS at MSI, they were super friendly and everything, we discussed the RMA process and I specifically requested that they test it with a processor, it's shows that in the documentation. Long story short, I bought this product, had a problem with it, had to pay to ship it back to them, when I get it back I put a brand new processor in it and oh look the CPU led is on. I spent hours debugging this and I finally found that if I use a single stick of ram in the DIMMB2 slot, I could get it to post. I can't have more than one stick and it has to be in that slot. Clearly an issue with the motherboard, and clearly they didn't test it with a processor. I need a computer to work so I bought one from another manufacturer and it's been solid from day one, and the flashback process took seconds and worked the first time. Not even close to the experience I had trying to flash this pos. Again sorry AMD, but thank you for promptly replacing my processor.Update:So I sent the AMD processor back and they returned a new one fairly promptly, kudos to them on that. Like I mentioned in my review above, in order to troubleshoot if it was the mobo or the processor, MSI was pushing me to update the firmware, which I had already done and I really did not want to do a second time, but it seemed to be the only way to get the ball rolling on this problem. I did exactly as they instructed, and it bricked my mother board. Now I have two problems.Because I needed a computer to work on, I ended up buying a different brand (which also needed to be flashed and I did it in a matter of minutes on the first attempt). I sent my board back to MSI for RMA. When I received it back I had already had a different setup working perfectly so I wasn't going to disassemble it all to try and use a motherboard that was questionable from the beginning. After a few months I was going to donate it to the son of a friend of mine to try and peek his interest in technology. When I assembled it together I realized that the motherboard was doing the same exact thing, like they either never reflashed it or they didn't do any sort of testing on it afterwards. I paid retail for this board, and then paid to have it shipped back to them for RMA, and they sent me back a product that was failing in the same exact way it was when I sent it. I will never purchase anything from MSI again, ever.
