If you read the instructions, it’s excellent!
Most people don’t read instructions. Same goes for many who’ve reviewed this clearly.I’ll get straight to the point; it can take 4 whole weeks for your skin to get used to a new shaver, razor or cutting technique.Secondly, this cuts very well on dry skin, which I’d recommend if you’re prone to skin irritation. If you have a few days stubble, definitely cut dry first, then cut wet (in the shower I’d recommend) afterwards for a very close shave.I’ve used this for over a month now, and I went back to a manual razor, and to be honest, it doesn’t cut any closer but is far more painful and more time consuming, with more products needed. I use this shaver in the shower, and use a small amount of soap over my face. It takes me maybe 2 minutes for a daily shave and it really does cut every bit as close as a razor, at least on my skin.Braun recommend to shave before showering, because your face is puffy for a while after showering, but there are many variables for whatever suits each person. For me, I use it in the shower daily, or if I’ve gone a couple of days without shaving, I dry shave first, then wet shave in the shower afterwards.Otherwise, it’s beautifully made, the battery lasts weeks, it charges quickly, the rinse feature with the gills either side of the head is actually very useful, the blades dry out properly even without taking the head off, and the handle is comfortable. If only the sideburns / trimmer attachment could produce a sharp clean line, then this would be perfect.

Nice quality and a good close shave
I moved from Remington. This is a good buy: a quality made product with a very good close shave and it's washable under the tap. The battery holds charge well. Two minor issues (hence 4 and not 5 stars): you have to change the head for the trimmer - it isn't difficult and it allows you to get the foils for a close shave - just a minor irritation, and it comes with no pouch / bag. Otherwise - vey happy with its function, style and handling.

Smooth Operator
I've never liked having stubble so I have never used an electric razor but I couldn't be happier with my first one. Quick charging, very close and smooth shave, easy to use. One delighted customer

The cut is ok, but not great
It doesnt cut close enough unfortunately, and the battery life is very short. Needs constant charging.

Beyond belief - this is a 7 star shaver!
I would like to start by saying that nothing about shavers gets me excited. I have been shaving my head since 1996 when I was in the army and still didn't need to, which of naturally changed in my 30s. I have having to scrub my head on a regular basis, it takes from my time and energy through the day. Some 20 years ago I bought a rotary shaver which threw away as it was useless, followed by a Braun series 5 from Boots. I had no idea what I was buying, tried it and it did the job. It developed a fault and died after 7 years of daily use. Very upset, I went to Boots again and bought the recent (at the time) Braun series 5 which felt plasticky compared to my previous one and I didn't trust it for months. Almost 10 years later I still have it and think it is the best head shaver in the world (see photo). Meanwhile bought a dedicated rotary head shaver which despite all reviews didn't even come close to the series 5, and on top developed a fault after the first use and I returned it. Immediately ordered the new Braun Series 5 (as of 05.12.2024) just to have a backup... Well, I have no idea how they've done it - it is 3 times better, quicker and closer shave than my already perfect 10 year old Series 5!That's it - just wanted to share. Usually things get worse quality and pricier over time, which is the complete opposite with Braun. I am not using another shaving brand ever again.

Didn't like my face.
I have only ever own a Philips' rotary shaver for my face and Wahl trimmers for other parts. I got feed up of Wahl feeling cheap and failing after about a year and switched to a Braun kit. It was really well made and worked much better. As my Philips' is now over 10 years old and the shave not as good as it once was, I decided to try this Braun foil shaver. First attempt was on 3 day old facial hair. It removed nothing. After several attempts, I returned to my old Philips' and with the exception of my neck area - had a reasonably smooth shave. The following morning, I tried the Braun again and still it didn't appear to remove anything but the Philips' still cleared the morning stubble quite well. At this point, thinking I was doing something wrong or the shaver was broken - I started to read some posts on shaving websites (everything truly is online) which is when I discovered that the holes in foil shavers tend to be much smaller than rotary shavers and this can mean they are not effective on thicker / coarse hair. As my whiskers are generally referred to as iron filings by my wife, I'm guessing I fall into that category - lol.I have since returned the Braun and invested in a newer, better Philips' rotary which is shaving brilliantly. I blame my face, not the Braun - it's simply a case of the right tool for the job. For £60 it was well enough made and based on the reviews - all those with nice soft fine whiskers - it appears to work well. The rest of us will have to stick to a Philips' or Bosch power sander.

Brilliant
I have been bought a couple of electric shavers of another brand, didn't get on with them. But this one is great. Its wet (softened stubble) shave is as good as a razor, once you get the hang of it, easy to hold, good size and charges very quickly even with a 5v usb adapter, not included. And will have paid for its self in 2 months when you factor in the replacement foils last 18 months, great value for money.
