GENUINE HOTPOINT Washing Machine Carbon Brush & Holders

These fitted well and I only had to disconnect the machine, tilt it over, leaning it on a cupboard, use a light and unscrew the screws holding the old brushes in and replace with the new. There is an electrical spade connector to unplug from each brush too - a little awkward. The motor commutator seemed visually in good order, and the drum seemed to be moving smoothly. The machine had became intermittent at moving the drum, and eventually stopped suddenly; these brushes were all that was needed to give it a new lease of life. I checked the drum moved smoothly and verified the brushes had shortened a lot before buying the replacement brushes. It whirred a little after they were fitted, but the sound soon diminished until it was quite normal again. It's a bit fiddly, but not terribly hard. Clearly, it could have been something more serious; but it's worth trying brushes before throwing out a washing machine only a couple of years old. A little patch of black powder beneath the motor can be a tell-tale sign as well, as the tail end of the brushes tends to wear out quickly leaving a little pile of carbon.

After watching a few youtube videos I decided to take on the task. Very easy to do. Parts are very reasonable. Was quoted £25 from a engineer just to come out to have a look. All fixed for under a £10. In now have one more problem ...What to do with the new washing machine.

The one star given is for Amazon effeciant delivery.Brought these for indesit washing machine after noting on the list that my washing machine model number was noted down as being compatible. Only to find out when received and my husband attempted to fit that they are certainly not compatible and definitely wouldn’t fit . So had to reorder at a further expense from another company and the correct part was received and fitted with no problems .

These brushes worked fine and my washing machine once again had life. Was a bit annoyed at the washing machine telling me it needed a new door catch, which I bought and fitted, only for it to be the brushes. But who trusts anything from hotpoint these days?! 2 months later the washing machine decided to self destruct beyond any economical repair so replaced it with a super silent, brushless LG. I've never been so excited about a white good, you can actually stay in the kitchen and have a conversation whilst it's on! Anyway I digress, so buy these if you need to or just buy a new washing machine!

Had ordered a new washing machine after my Indesit gave up. Took one last look and could see the brushes were running very low, replaced with these and it fixed it!Cancelled my order and I'ves saved myself £300 odd! Thank you very much.
