Nice smart bulbs, but the price!
The setup is fairly simple, provided you have the appropriate app. They provide a QR code for you to pick that up. Connecting to a network is no more or less of a faff than it is for other smart gadgets, a moderate faff, in other words. The associated app is less fussy and easier to navigate than some (Tapo) and the whole process is forgettable in a positive sense. I remember all the stuff necessary to set up Tapo blubs (we have more than a few of those too). We didn't want the colour capability for the places where these bulbs are used, so they are pretty much set and forget. We can dim them, which is nice.As a musician I tend to hate any noise injected into the mains circuits in our house (it subtly shows up on audio recordings) and dimmable bulbs are not prone to doing that, so we finally get dimming with no downsides. They work well, they respond to automation very consistently (some Tapo bulbs can be "reluctant" even of the same model - QA) and are generally "set and forget". They get my vote.

Philips, smart bulb
With this bulb I didn’t know you need a extra piece of kit for this bulb to work with you or Alexa. The item you need is a bridge Hub made by Phillips. You can get bulbs that are Blutooth that you don’t need the bridge hub.Smart life bulbs and you don’t need a bridge hub.I’ve got to say this Philips, smart bulb are cheaper on your Electric meter reading and it has a nice warm bright glow, check this product first before buying, so you know what you need to make this bulb work with your Alexa. Thank you for reading this review.

Mediocre bulb
I purchased the Philips Hue B22 Bayonet smart bulb, expecting seamless integration with my smart home setup, but was disappointed. The bulb only works with Bluetooth or Alexa, and since I use Apple devices, it wouldn’t connect to Apple HomeKit.This creates a frustrating disconnect as all my other bulbs are effortlessly controlled via HomeKit with one touch, while this Philips bulb requires connecting to Bluetooth every time to turn it on.In this day and age, it’s baffling why Philips would make a bulb so limited in compatibility. Unfortunately, this has been a poor experience, and I won’t be buying this bulb again.

Excellent.
This is the first time I've ever used one of these types of lights and being an old man, thought I might struggle to get it going. Nope, really really easy. Links to my alexa super easily too. Overall, a truly amazing bulb.

Perfect for using with Alexa routines!
I got this lightbulb because I wanted to have a light in our entrance way on a timer. When I first got it and downloaded the recommended app I was thinking I’d have to get an expensive Phillips Hub to do what I wanted, but actually it works perfectly with my Alexa’s. I say “good morning” and it turns on. “Good night” turns it off and it’s also set on a timer to come on when we get home in the evenings. Have it set at 50% brightness and it’s plenty bright enough! No more trying to get in the front door in the dark, and now I don’t need to spend a fortune getting an electrician to set up an outside light!!
