I've had a few laser hair removers. This is one of the better ones I've had. Very nice quality. It is a plug in, not battery powered. I prefer this. Batteries can go bad over time. Plug can last basically forever, and is usually more powerful as well. This has a nice large laser area, and comes with 2 laser heads. These work best on lighter skin and darker hair. Can take a few weeks to see results. Should use this often in the first many weeks. Once things are to your liking, then just need to use it every once in a while for maintenance. I like the shape of this as well. Easy to handle and get into the right positions.

When compared to other IPL hair removal devices this has less power output. This device has a maximum power output of 17 joules whereas other IPL devices for half the price have more than 20 joules of power. I appreciate that this has a digital screen for power level indication, number of flashes, ice cooling mode indication, and auto mode indication. The handle makes holding this much easier than other brands without. Many other models have a setting for different areas on the body while this has removable filters.

I got this MLAY Hair Removal Device and we used it on different types of body hair (face, back, arms, male, female) to see the results. Please note that these type of devices need repeated treatments, especially in the beginning, before you start noticing a change in hair growth. Also, results may vary depending on skin color, hair color, and type of hair. Soft thin hair seems to remove easier than thicker and sturdier hair - example: back hair takes noticeably longer to get results.From what I understand the light pulses weaken the hair follicle to reduce or eliminate hair growth.Does it work? I'd say yes it does have a positive effect and weakens/removes hair over time and it saves you from going to an expensive hair removal salon. Does it remove all hair? No it doesn't completely remove sturdier/thicker hair but it does seem to weaken it - maybe prolonged use will improve removal.Operation is pretty simple: first shave off the hair since you want to treat the follicle. Then turn on the device and select the power setting 1 through 5, put the device on the skin with hair and push the button. Move the device across the skin area while pulsing the IPL laser light. Make sure to use the included glasses (or dark sunglasses) and don't look directly in the flash because it is super bright. Has a wide area of effect, wider than most devices. It is hard to judge but this seems to be toward the upper end of IPL devices. It includes everything that normally is included, protective sunglasses, razor, cooling effect for comfort. It seems to work well and be powerful. The number of lifetime flashes is lower, but it is doubtful anyone will ever get close to that number on a home use machine. As for value, it is tough to judge since the price seems high right now but will probably drop.

Not a fan of this one at all. I don;t like the shape of it. It seems like it would work better if you were using this on someone else. I found it quite cumbersome when using this on myself. It's also much less powerful than laser that are much cheaper. It works. It seems well enough made, but you can do much better for the money.

After doing research, reading instructions, and watching videos. I turned this on and used it. Everything was pretty straight forward and easy to use. The cord is really long enabling you to be able to plug it in and find a comfortable spot to work. The ice feature is a metal plate next to the lamp that get's really cold. The shape of the gun is easy to hold. Keeping track of where you have been will be tricky so that you don't miss spots and don't go over an area to often.My only concern is- I can't find where to buy more replacement lamps. It comes with 2 but what if I need it buy another down the road?

I'm always skeptical of devices like this that claim they take many sessions to work but this one seems to be doing the job. I've been following the instructions and 3 weeks later I'm definitely seeing some reduced hair growth. I will continue to use it and update this review if the trend I'm seeing does not continue or reverses.

First off, if you're going to use this device or any like it, do some serious research. You can waste a lot of money or seriously hurt yourself if you don't know what you're doing.These IPL devices are ineffective on light, gray or colored hair, and you can seriously hurt yourself if you have darker skin. This device and others like it will work best on people with dark hair and light skin. And effectiveness is relative. Not everyone will see the same results, and it will take multiple treatments to start seeing progress. For some, this will merely slow hair growth rather than stop it altogether.There are dozens and dozens of these cool laser IPL devices out there, and this one has nothing that pushes it above the rest. I know this because I've tested a bunch of them.This does have the pistol grip I prefer for easy holding (compared to the ones that are shaped like a bottle of body wash).It's a nice device, and if money is no object, this is as good as any. If you're pinching pennies, shop around.
